Chip Way: Belgian Fries with a Huddersfield Heart

Chipway Huddersfield

By Allan, Hudd Show Live

Hey up Huddersfield – you’re in for a proper treat! There’s a new flavour landing in town, and it’s coming in hot, crispy, and absolutely smothered in sauce.

We had a cracking chat on Hudd Show Live with Ash, the proud founder of Chip Way, a brand-new Belgian fries shop opening its doors on April 8th. And trust us – this isn’t just your average chippy.

Bringing Belgium to the Broad Yorkshire Sky

Ash is buzzing to bring the full Belgian fries experience right here to Hudd. “We’re not just doing chips – we’re doing Belgian fries, the authentic way,” she told us, full of passion. “Double-fried, hand-cut, crisp on the outside, fluffy in the middle – and every single one is unique.”

And we’re not just talking about the fries. We’re talking over 24 sauces (yes, twenty-four), with options for sweet tooths, spice lovers, and everything in between – and most are vegan and gluten-free. Big win!

From Bollywood to King Street

The idea came to life while Ash was on the road with her husband, a Bollywood singer. They’d always hunt down Belgian fries wherever they toured, but found themselves missing the magic back in Huddersfield.

So what do you do when your hometown’s lacking something you love? You bring it home.

“Huddersfield is where I’ve built my life since 2006,” Ash said. “Studied here, worked here, stayed here. It’s home. So it made sense to give something back.”

Not Just Fries – Footlong Pizzas Too

The Chip Way menu might be small – but it’s mighty. Every item has been taste-tested, seasoned to perfection, and personally chosen by Ash and her team. From loaded cones to slices of pizza and even footlong pizza, everything is made with care.

“It’s all signature – every item has a purpose,” Ash explained. “We’ve stayed up till all hours crafting the right seasoning. There’s nothing generic here.”

Students, Get Ready for ‘Dead On 10’

This one’s genius. Inspired by a couple of local students, Chip Way is launching a game called Dead On 10. Stop the timer bang on 10 seconds and boom – free food! Now that’s a game worth playing after a lecture (or a pint).

Late Nights, Big Bites

Whether you’re on a study break or staggering out of a bar on King Street, Chip Way’s got you covered. They’ll be open till 3AM on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, serving up the good stuff when Huddersfield needs it most.

Support Local, Eat Local

Ash isn’t shy about how much heart (and cash) she’s poured into Chip Way. “I’ve emptied my pockets, honestly,” she laughed. “But I believe in this. I just need Huddersfield to show up – try us out, spread the word, and tell your mates!”

She gave a heartfelt shoutout to Cater Master Engineering Ltd, the team that helped bring her dream to life, saying, “Without them, Chip Way wouldn’t exist.”

Final Fry Thoughts

So, what three words sum up Chip Way?

“Crispy. Handcrafted. Unique.” – and we couldn’t agree more.

Chip Way officially opens its doors on Monday, 8th April. Give them a follow on social, pop it in your calendar, and get ready for a fry experience like no other.

As always…

It’s all good in the Hudd!
