Huddersfield Town Centre Buzzing After Vibrant Week of Events
Huddersfield town centre has been positively buzzing this past week, showcasing just how lively and community-focused our town truly is. With the International Market now packed up and moved on, Huddersfield still has plenty of energy and excitement left to offer.
The International Market attracted crowds from across the region over the weekend, bringing an array of delicious global cuisines and unique crafts right to our doorstep. Alongside this, Hudders Feast at the outdoor market proved a huge hit, making for a weekend bursting with local flavours and community spirit.
Today, the sun was shining, and the streets were filled with locals and visitors enjoying the vibrant atmosphere. From the Imperial Arcade, home to gems like Handmade in Huddersfield and Hudders Fudge, to the recently opened independent car shop, there are plenty of reasons to explore and support local businesses.
Coffee enthusiasts will be delighted to hear about Turntable Coffee and Vinyl, one of several fantastic independent cafés giving Huddersfield its distinctive character. And that’s not all—this coming weekend marks the exciting launch of The Light, opening its doors on Friday, bringing attractions like axe throwing and laser quest to the town centre, promising fun and entertainment for everyone.
Meanwhile, Kingsgate car park will be extending its opening hours, adding convenience for visitors looking to enjoy an extended day out. The Packhorse Centre also continues to thrive, especially with the vibrant takeaway kitchen offering tasty bites in a welcoming atmosphere.
Earlier today, we were live from the launch of the My Chamber Business Festival at the John Smith Stadium. This festival offers a week-long programme of events designed to celebrate and boost local businesses and community initiatives across Huddersfield, Calderdale, and Kirklees. With numerous free workshops throughout the week, it’s an opportunity not to be missed.
